New Delhi, June 15th
It is common knowledge that a healthy diet is essential for a healthy body. Lack of nutrition can lead to various diseases. The overall nutritional pattern can be defined as the amount, frequency, variety and combination of different foods and beverages that must be consumed. A lack of nutrients can have physical, mental, and behavioral effects, says one expert.
Aseem Sood, Managing Director, Proveda India, provides insights into eating patterns and how it affects behavior.
Iron deficiency
If you find that your child is tired and often irritable, then it is important to know the cause. These children are also disruptive, have short attention spans, and have no interest in their surroundings. Such behavioral changes are due to a lack of iron in the body. Iron deficiency can cause anemia. It is a condition in which you do not have enough healthy red blood cells to carry enough oxygen to your body tissues. Iron deficiency is commonly seen in preschoolers, and if they are not given iron-rich foods, they are easily prone to this deficiency.
Vitamin A deficiency
We often hear parents complain that their children are very aggressive and violent behavior. These children show anxiety disorders in adolescence. Forgetfulness and low energy levels indicate the lack of vitamin A, a very important group of nutrients. It is also required for a healthy reproductive system in both men and women. Green and orange vegetables are great sources of vitamin A nutrients. Breast milk is considered the best source of vitamin A for newborns.
Iodine deficiency
In many cases, we have seen children with intellectual disabilities, impaired intellectual development, or impaired growth fall victim to iodine deficiency. Almost a third of the world’s population suffers from iodine deficiency. Thyroid hormones are part of various physical growth processes such as developing the brain, building strong bones, and regulating metabolism in the body. The most common symptom of iodine deficiency is an enlarged thyroid. This can also lead to an increase in heart rate, breathing problems, and weight gain.
Calcium deficiency
When a person, regardless of age group, experiences weakness, lack of energy, and a general feeling of sluggishness all the time. Calcium deficiency fatigue can also lead to drowsiness and dizziness, which is also characterized by poor concentration, forgetfulness and confusion. In addition, calcium acts as a communicating particle. Without this, your heart, muscles, and nerves could not function. Dairy products and dark green vegetables are good sources of calcium.
Magnesium deficiency
A magnesium deficit can be seen by some symptoms such as hyperactivity, where the child fidgets with their hands or feet, or squirms in the seat. They become impulsive and have no control over their anger or movements. Your lack of attention, negligent mistakes, loss of interest in a particular task that requires mental exertion, are all signs of magnesium deficiency. The magnesium deficiency can also lead to various conditions such as type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and heart disease. If you have a long-term symptom, you may not notice insulin resistance and high blood pressure.
Improving food intake is not easy to achieve. Healthy eating habits are all about consuming a variety of foods from major food groups on a regular basis, including grains and grain products, fruits and vegetables, meat, and dairy products. From time to time it is not possible to ingest foods that add an equal amount of nutrients to our health quotient and so immunity boosters are added to our meal to fill the required minerals. Given the current scenario, Proveda India has launched a segment of immunity enhancers and beverages that are a unique combination of science and nature. IANS
