The number of new cases stays below 100 cases and there is a new health outbreak.
Meanwhile, the Canadian health agency today issued new mask guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals.
Regional health authorities continue to offer new opportunities to people who have not yet received their first vaccination.
Inner health announced today (June 25) that anyone 12 years or older who needs their first dose of vaccine can now do so as a point of contact at vaccination clinics in the area.
It can also include people who are uncomfortable with needles, nervous or anxious, or teenagers who prefer a more comfortable environment.
A special clinic for teenagers who have not yet received their first dose will take place on Monday (June 28) at the Kelowna Foundry (100–1815 Kirschner Road) from 12 noon to 5 pm.
Meanwhile, due to the heat wave Island health temporarily moves the COVID-19 vaccination clinic to Aggie Hall in Ladysmith (without air conditioning). Those whose vaccinations were scheduled for June 25th and 26th and July 1st through July 3rd at this location will be moved to the Vaccination Clinic at Cedar Community Center (2388 Cedar Road) in Nanaimo.
BC reports 72 new COVID-19 cases, according to a joint statement from BC Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, and Secretary of Health Adrian Dix.
By region, the sum includes:
- 29 in Fraser Health;
- 24 in Vancouver Coastal Health;
- 13 in domestic health;
- four in Island Health;
- two in Northern Health;
- nobody from outside Canada.
A decrease of 15 active cases since yesterday leaves BC with 1,096 currently active cases.
Five fewer patients in hospitals since yesterday, 108 people are currently leaving hospitals, and 37 of those patients are in intensive care units (three fewer patients since yesterday).
Unfortunately, there are two new deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the total to 1,749 deaths.
With 88 recoveries since yesterday, there are now 144,554 people who have recovered.
During the pandemic, BC recorded a total of 147,418 cases.
Under the provincial vaccination program, 77.6 percent of British Columbia’s adults and 76.2 percent of those 12 and older received their first dose of vaccine.
Additionally, 26.9 percent of adults in BC and 25.2 percent of those 12 years and older received their second dose.
A total of 4,703,549 doses of Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines were administered in BC, of which 1,167,117 were second doses.

Today, Fraser Health has an outbreak in the intensive rehab unit at. explained Laurel Square in Surrey, for evidence of transmission and four patients who tested positive. The outbreak remains limited to one unit.
Sobeys has that. listed Safeway at 45610 Luckakuck Way in Chilliwack when an employee who last worked there on June 21st tested positive.
Meanwhile, Loblaw was listing them Real Canadian supermarket at 45779 Luckakuck Way in Chilliwack when tested positive with an employee who last worked at the site on June 19.
