The pursuit of smooth, soft, and glowing legs is endless – especially for someone like me with thick, coarse body hair (TMI?). Shaving usually results in bumps, which I cover with body makeup or glowing oils instead of off-the-shelf, silky smooth legs. That’s why I had to try it out when I saw there was a product out there that was literally called the Bump-Easer.
TikTok’s newest obsession for the summer is First Aid Beauty’s Bump Eraser ($ 28, Sephora). Thousands of videos online showed people trying body scrubs on their legs and arms to show that it literally erased bumps and exposed shiny, soft limbs. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this influenced in my life.

TikTok’s beauty community swears by the scrub to treat body acne, bumps, hyperpigmentation, and strawberry legs – I have it all. I tried the scrub for a few months to see if it did justice to my coarse body hair and pigmentation. Here are my honest thoughts:

It soothed a lot of my body acne.
Many TikTok reviewers have spoken in their videos that this scrub offers both chemical and physical exfoliation, making it ideal for those who may be acne prone. It contains pumice stone polishing beads to remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin and 10 percent alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), which is essentially a chemical peel.
I didn’t see much of a difference after using this the first few times, but after about the third or fourth application I started seeing a decrease in the acne that I occasionally get on my thighs. While some scrubs can be irritating and actually cause acne and redness on my legs, I was really glad that this was good for sensitive skin too.
It made the shave easier.
I experimented with a couple of ways to use this both before and after shaving (and also between shaves). It didn’t really harm my skin after shaving, but I loved using it before shaving. I almost felt like the pumice stone was loosening the follicles in my skin to make it easier to shave.
It’s also nice that this scrub feels nourishing and moisturizing. While admittedly it didn’t clear any bumps on my skin (to my dismay), my skin felt softer after shaving than if I had simply tricked it into a regular body wash and shaving cream before using my razor.
While this product didn’t quite live up to the TikTok hype for me, I also recognize that I’m on the other end of the spectrum when it comes to really thick and coarse body hair (something most of my South Asian friends can do). in relation to).
Even so, I know many who use this and rave about how smooth it makes their legs. It’s a summer staple if you have fine or thick hair, and if you’re simply looking for something to reduce body acne or nourish your skin before you shave, you will definitely love it just as TikTok promises you.
