How to get rid of visceral fat: Cinnamon, ginger and cumin could help burn the belly fat

Visceral fat is body fat that is stored in the abdominal cavity and is therefore stored around a number of important internal organs such as the liver, pancreas, and intestines. According to Harvard Medical School, visceral fat has a higher risk of heart disease and diabetes. In a 2012 Japanese study published in the Journal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology, two groups of mice were fed a diet high in sucrose and high fat.

The study states, “This systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was conducted to summarize the effects of ginger intake on weight loss, glycemic control and lipid profiles in overweight and obese subjects.

“Overall, the current meta-analysis showed that taking ginger reduced body weight, waist-to-hip ratio, hip ratio and fasting glucose, but had no effect on insulin, BMI, triglycerides, total and LDL cholesterol levels.”

The study showed that ginger supplementation significantly reduced both body weight and belly fat.

A study published in the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health further looked at cumin consumption for visceral fat loss.

The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study was carried out on 72 overweight subjects between the ages of 18 and 50 years.

Participants were randomly divided into three groups, with the first group receiving cumin, the second group receiving a lower level of cumin, and the third group receiving placebos.

The study found that the high-dose cumin group saw significant weight loss after eight weeks, as well as a significant decrease in fasting plasma glucose with a significant increase in the quantitative insulin sensitivity test.

“The results of the current study showed that taking high-dose cumin seeds for eight weeks in overweight subjects had a positive effect on their weight,” the study concluded.
