Daily exercise is important as it is not only good for overall mental health, but also helps fight off cardiovascular disease, which is the leading cause of death in both men and women, according to the CDC.
Physiotherapist Alex Crockford, creator of the #Crockfit app, said cardio exercises like running, cycling, or swimming could be added to your daily workout routine. But he also said that one should make sure to include resistance training in your routine, such as weight lifting, squats, lunges, pushups, and pullups.
Take care of his metal health
Very Well Mind reported that suicide was the seventh leading cause of death for American men in 2015, based on data from the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control.
Dr. Lee said that men may feel the stigma of mental illness more than women and therefore tend to internalize their emotions and fears more.
But depression isn’t always obvious in depressed people. Family and friends could start by asking loved ones how they are feeling and avoid joking about it and suggesting that they “open up”, as this could end the conversation.
It’s important to make them feel like someone understands them. Emphasizing their feelings and making them feel like they are not alone will help them open up to their feelings.

Get enough hours of sleep
Dr. Guy Meadows, co-founder of Sleep School, said men typically have higher levels of alcohol consumption, which could negatively affect their sleep. Lack of sleep can lead to other serious problems such as cardiovascular disease and chronic lung problems.
He added that it is imperative for overall health to convince your father or partner to make sleep a priority. If possible, get them to abstain for at least four days to a week and suggest that they stop drinking two hours before bed.
Hair loss slow down hair
According to the Mayo Clinic, hair loss can be caused by hereditary genes, hormones, medical conditions, or as part of aging. It could affect self-esteem in men, and some of them could experience extreme anxiety and depression.
Trichologist Hannah Gaboardi said that hereditary male baldness could occur before age 21, although 50% of cases begin to form by the age of 50.
Gaboardi added that using biotin and omega-3 supplements on the scalp could help slow down baldness as it could stimulate the hair follicles by increasing blood flow to the scalp.
Check for prostate cancer
According to the Mayo Clinic, prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer, affecting primarily men over the age of 50. Symptoms can include blood in the urine or semen, changes in urine flow, and peeing at night. Early diagnosis could lead to better results.
