A press release announcing its June 29 release said the cookbook would “bring Linda’s kitchen up to speed and reinvent her favorite plant-based recipes, alongside her favorite family stories and the dishes she now has at home eat. ”Linda died in 1998 and was a vegetarian.

“As an original food pioneer, Linda believed in tasty, healthy, meat-free food and welcomed kindness and compassion in everything she did,” the press release reads. The personal book will also include personal stories and family photos of the McCartneys.

“Years ago, before anyone woke up to the idea of environmental, health and animal welfare issues, Linda paved the way with vegetarianism, telling people about it and promoting it,” Paul McCartney said in a press release. “At home she cooked for the family and these recipes have now been brought up to date for a modern audience so they are all plant-based and fabulous. There are family photos and stories from that time in the book and, of course, lots of great, tasty, healthy recipes, ”he added. “So I hope that this book will inspire people to talk about sustainability and modern life and not just give them great recipes to eat.”

Recipes include pancakes, sausage rolls, shepherd’s cake, and chilli non-carne. Other recipes from Paul, Mary, and Stella’s kitchens include panzanella salad, crispy pecan biscuits, and pad thai.
