Royal Philips is helping the United Arab Emirates (UAE) accelerate the transformation of data-driven healthcare through a new partnership with one of the country’s leading telecommunications companies.
The multinational health tech group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Du to “accelerate the critical, data-driven transformation of the health care system in the UAE in support of the Dubai Health Strategy 2021”, as it became known this week.
Both parties are described as a “first of its kind” and appear to be working together to provide predictive analytics, data visualization and reporting capabilities to healthcare workers.
“This winning combination will enable the local healthcare system to access critical patient information, make life-saving decisions in a split second and prevent early warning levels from deteriorating general ward settings,” Royal Philips said in a statement.

It is hoped that working with values-based care will help improve the patient and healthcare professional experience and achieve better health outcomes at lower care costs.

“We have seen some inspiring success stories with our Philips eICU program [where off-site healthcare professionals are able to interact and engage with bedside staff in real-time] in providing value-based care; Healthcare professionals have saved lives and reduced death rates while improving the quality and efficiency of health services – reducing care costs and length of hospital stay for patients. “
