NSW
Sydneysiders cannot travel to regional NSW until July 10th. Residents are prohibited from leaving the city except for essential purposes. No permit is required to arrive between states in NSW, but travelers from Victoria must complete a travel declaration within 24 hours immediately prior to entering NSW or upon entry.
Victoria
To enter Victoria, Australian travelers must apply for a permit. Greater Sydney and Wollongong as well as Darwin have now been declared “red zones” and these residents are prohibited from entering Victoria. All Victorian residents returning from a red zone must be quarantined for 14 days.
Queensland
The Queensland government has extended border restrictions to all of Greater Sydney, including the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour. Starting Thursday, June 24th at 1:00 am, people who have lived in or visited these areas will be denied entry to Queensland unless a specific exception is granted. Queensland residents returning from a hotspot must be quarantined for 14 days at their own expense.
Western Australia
After the reintroduction of a hard border with NSW, no one who has been in the state since June 11 will be allowed to enter. Restrictions also apply to people coming from Victoria, Queensland, the NT, and the ACT. Anyone who has visited these states or areas must go through a 14-day quarantine and get tested. SA and Tasmania are the only states that don’t have quarantine restrictions.
PLOT
With effect from Friday, June 25th at 4 p.m., a stay at home order has been placed for the entire Sydney metropolitan area, as well as the Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Wollongong. Non-ACT residents who have resided in the greater Sydney area will not be admitted to the ACT, except in specific cases where exemptions are granted.
South australia
The state has closed its border with NSW, Western Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory, as well as the ACT. A 100 km buffer zone was established with NSW that allows people who live near the border, including Broken Hill, to travel to South Africa. Anyone who has arrived in South Africa from the greater Sydney area since Monday must isolate themselves for two weeks and have a Covid-19 test on days one, five and 13.
People from all over Victoria or who have visited the area within 14 days of arriving in South Africa must take a Covid test on the first day and quarantine themselves until a negative result is obtained.
Northern Territory
All interstate entries into the NT must complete a border entry form. Sydney, the Blue Mountains and Wollongong have been declared hotspots and all visitors from these areas must be quarantined for 14 days. Anyone considered close contact by the NSW government must complete 14 days of quarantine in their homes, while all casual contacts must be isolated and tested and remain in self-quarantine until a negative test is returned.
Tasmania
Tasmania has closed its borders to travelers from the greater Sydney area. All arrivals to Tasmania are required to provide contact and travel details prior to entering the state. Anyone who has been to an exposure site in Victoria, NSW, ACT, and Queensland is not allowed to enter the state.
New Zealand
New Zealand has suspended quarantine-free travel with Australia until Tuesday, June 29 at 9:59 p.m. Individuals who have visited an exposure site in any state are also prohibited from traveling to New Zealand within 14 days of visiting that site.
