World Yoga Day 2021: With the two waves of the pandemic and its adversity, most of us are now realizing the benefits of yoga – an ancient Indian discipline – for staying healthy and fit. Yoga poses involve several complex postures to rotate, bend, and stretch the body, not only keeping your muscles and bones healthy, but also strengthening the immune system and clearing the mind. While regular exercise is an important part of the discipline, it also includes some important nutritional principles to prepare the body for the poses and keep it hydrated.

Here is a list of seven drinks, some of which even have mentions in centuries-old Ayurvedic medicine, that go hand in hand with yoga.
1. Golden milk:
According to Ayurveda, the way we prepare milk has a huge impact on how our body reacts to it. The golden milk is prepared by mixing a quarter tablespoon of turmeric in a cup of milk and boiling it. Then it is sweetened with a touch of honey. This drink prevents gas and allergies, and the calcium in milk helps you lose weight. Golden milk also helps improve joint pain and muscle stiffness, and gives yogis amazing flexibility.
2. Ginger tea:
Most yoga practitioners start their mornings with ginger tea to activate the digestive system. A well-known digestive aid, ginger also helps recharge the circulatory system. Cook grated ginger for 5 minutes and add a teaspoon of honey to make your morning tea. Take it 30 minutes before your yoga session starts.

3. Amla juice:
The Indian gooseberry is rich in antioxidants and promotes immune functions. Cut the amla into small pieces and pass it through a juicer any time of the day for a healthy drink. Amla improves liver health and aids digestion.
4. Aam Panna:
Since it is the mango season, make the most of it to strengthen your body for yoga sessions in this hot and humid weather. This drink will keep your body hydrated, prevent cancer, and regulate diabetes. The high content of vitamin C in unripe mangoes fights blood diseases and cleanses the blood. Vitamin C also supports the production of red blood cells.

5. Coconut water:
