As part of Men’s Health Week, the men’s social group Man Up for mental health will sponsor a quiz competition this Tuesday. The quiz competition takes place every week at Buttons Brewing in Ulverstone, but there’s going to be a twist this week. To kick off, a Man Up Tasmania member will give a short talk on what the organization is all about before the trivia is let loose. Founder Aaron Meldrum said the competition will stay the same with a focus only on opening new conversations. “We were there last week and got a feel for the little things,” said Mr Meldrum. “We’d like it to be pretty similar, but we’ll have flyers on the tables all night to read and display of interest forms for new volunteers to use. “We want to encourage people to come to us. . and chat, ”he said. “Buttons is a great venue, centrally located here on the northwest coast, and that’s where we are mostly based. “It’s a good opportunity for us to reach a good collection of people. “We want to encourage people to come over … and have a chat,” he said.

“It’s a good opportunity for us to reach a good group of people.
“We don’t usually host events ourselves, so we wanted to find something that was already going … during Men’s Health Week.”
He said his team is looking forward to redeeming themselves after a bad first trivia attempt.
“It was pretty bad, but it was a lot of fun.”
Trivia takes place on Tuesdays from 6.30 p.m. at Buttons Brewing. A table reservation is required.
